of B. Braun Medical Inc, is responsible for overseeing the sales
and promotion of the B. Braun OEM Division’s products and
services. Black has over two decades of experience in the OEM industry
with B. Braun. He enjoys working with customers and helping them
meet their challenges through contract manufacturing and project
management solutions.
Black holds
a B.S. in Finance with a minor in Marketing from the University
of South Carolina and a Medical Marketing certificate from UCLA.
He served for six years with the U.S. Air Force in Tactical Air
Command.

Blank

In
1979 Mr. Blank founded The MedTech Group, a plastics technology based
company dedicated to engineering and manufacturing disposable products
for the healthcare industry. As its President, he has led the company
to expansion into product design, mold building, precision injection
molding, surgical staple cartridge manufacturing and manufacturing
of complete sterile products for the medical, pharmaceutical, diagnostic
and biotech industries. MedTech currently has operations in South
Plainfield and Middlesex, New Jersey; West Haven and Milford, Connecticut;
Vega Baja, Puerto Rico; and Heredia, Costa Rica.
Prior to founding MedTech, Mr. Blank served sixteen years in various
management positions with Johnson & Johnson. During the last four
years with J&J, he was the Vice President of Manufacturing of
the Jelco Laboratories Division, a manufacturer of disposable hospital
and surgical products. Mr.
Blank served two years as an officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers.
He earned a BSIE degree from New York University and an MBA from
George Washington University.
From
1993 until 2002 Mr. Blank served on the Board of Directors of United
Trust Bank in Bridgewater, NJ. He is currently serving on the Advisory
Board of PNC Bank, NJ. He is a member of the National Association
of Manufacturers Presidents Council. Mr. Blank is a corporate research
sponsor of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He is a past
President of the Jewish Federation of Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren
Counties. Mr. Blank and his wife Harriet have two children and eight
grandchildren. |

Jack
Czajkowski has over 27 years of manufacturing and operations experience
having varying responsibilities, with Burroughs Corp, Howe Richardson
Scale Company, Johnson & Johnson and Stryker Orthopaedics. He
also has 14 years of experience with implementing and operating
cellular manufacturing.
Current responsibilities
include accelerating new product introductions through the global
operations organization of Stryker Orthopaedics. He is recognized
by Industry Week magazine in 1998 for operating one of the 10 best
manufacturing plants in America. BSIE form Rutgers University, MBA
from St. John’s University.

Christopher
Delporte has 11 years of reporting and journalism experience, with
more than half in the healthcare and medical technology sector. In
July 2006, he was named group editor for Medical Product Outsourcing
and Orthopedic Design & Technology magazines published by Rodman
Publishing in Ramsey, NJ. Prior to heading the editorial departments
for MPO and ODT, Delporte was director of communications and member
relations for the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA),
a Washington, DC-based industry trade and advocacy group. Before leading
MDMA’s communications activities, he served as Washington Editor
for Medical Device Daily by Thomson/BioWorld, where he covered Capitol
Hill and a variety of legislative, regulatory and general healthcare
issues impacting the medical technology sector. As
managing editor for Thomson American Health Consultants in Atlanta,
he managed and wrote five newsletters on topics ranging from hospital
admitting to medical ethics, in addition to coordinating the company’s
successful continuing education audio conference program for doctors
and nurses. Delporte began his career as assistant editor for Boating
World magazine, later as managing editor for America’s Textiles
International (now Textile World), both published by Billian Publishing
in Atlanta.
Delporte is
a graduate of the School of Journalism at the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill. He lives in Washington, DC.

Mr.
Gross is recognized nationally and internationally as a leader in
the Asian medical markets. Mr. Gross founded PBM in 1988 and has helped
over 200 medical companies with business development and regulatory
issues in Asia. Mr. Gross is a frequent contributor of articles on
Asian medical issues for Clinica (England), Medical Device and Diagnostic
Industry (Los Angeles), and other medically oriented journals. Mr.
Gross has been a featured speaker on the Asian medical markets at
the Medical Design and Manufacturing shows, the Medtrade Home Health
Care Exhibition, the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society’s
annual and regional meetings, and a variety of other medically oriented
meetings and conferences. Prior to establishing PBM, Mr. Gross gained
broad experience, knowledge and contacts in Asia while working at
three major Wall Street firms. Mr. Gross has a BA degree, Phi Beta
Kappa, from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia
University.

Michael
T. Kagan, BSET, Vice President, Operations since May 2004. Prior
to this he was Vice President of Engineering from 1999 to 2004.
He joined Immunicon in 1999 from Bayer Diagnostics Corporation where
he was Director of Engineering. From 1992 through 1999, at both
Bayer and Chiron Diagnostics, he held posts as Senior Project Manager
for the ACS: CentaurTM immunoassay system and Manager of Electronic
Systems Development. From 1989 to 1992 he was Manufacturing Engineering
Manager at Ciba Corning Diagnostics Corp’s Critical Care group
in charge of process engineering for blood gas and electrolyte instruments,
sensors and reagents. Mr. Kagan holds a BSET degree from the Wentworth
Institute of Technology and completed various graduate studies in
Biomedical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Case
Western Reserve University.

Frank
Maloit is currently the Vice President of Corporate Procurement
for C. R. Bard, Inc. He coordinates their worldwide purchasing effort.
He has been with Bard since January 2001. Prior to this, he worked
for several Johnson & Johnson companies in various purchasing,
materials and operations management roles. Frank has over 25 years
working in the operations/sourcing arena of the medical device industry.
Prior to that he spent over 9 years as an officer in the United
States Air Force.
Frank has a
MBA from Gonzaga University and a Bachelor of Science degree from
Ohio State University. He has certification from the Production
and Inventory Control Society in Production and Inventory Control
Management (CPIM) and Integrated Resource Management (CIRM). Frank
is also a Director on the Editorial Board of Medical Products Outsourcing.

Malpiedi is Vice President of Global Business Process, Becton, Dickinson
and Company. He has direct line responsibility for Global Strategic
Procurement and North American Distribution, Customer Service and

to Cash, Forecast to Stock and Requisition to Payment.
David Malpiedi joined BD in 1999 as the Vice President
of Global Purchasing, where he rolled out a global change program
to introduce and execute a strategic sourcing and value creation
program.
Upon
joining BD, David brought with him twenty-five years experience
in the healthcare industry, most of which was spent with GlaxoSmithKline,
both in the United States and abroad. He has worked in the clinical
laboratory industry, consumer products, pharmaceutical products
and most recently, medical devices.

Kevin
M. Quinley is Senior Vice President, Medmarc Insurance Group, Chantilly,
VA. He has a BA from Wake Forest University and an MA from the College
of William & Mary. He holds the Chartered Property & Casualty
Underwriter (CPCU) designation and specialty designations from the
American Insurance Institute in Risk Management (ARM), in Claims
(AIC), in Reinsurance (ARe) and in Management (AIM).
The author
of over 500 published articles and ten books, Mr. Quinley’s
articles have appeared in leading industry publications and forums.
In 2005, he was the contributing author to the new book, Marketing
Medical Devices in the United States.
Kevin teaches
classes in insurance, claims and risk management for the Washington
D.C. Chapter of the Society of CPCU. He is a past President of the
Washington D.C. Chapter of CPCU. He is a frequent writer and speaker
on topics relating to risk management and claims-handling. He can

DONALD
R. YOUNG, Senior Vice President of Quality Assurance, has over 20
years of experience in the medical supply manufacturing industry
in senior leadership roles.
He began his
career in 1982 as an engineer for American Bentley Laboratories,
where he managed new production line implementations, including
equipment and supply chain, for off-shore manufacturing locations,
as well as cost-improvement programs. Young joined Avail in 1990
and previously served as Director of Quality Assurance before assuming
the title of Senior Vice President, Quality Assurance. He is responsible
for Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs for Avail’s global
operations, which include eighteen locations, over 3,500 employees,
and a Quality staff of 200 people.
